Funding raised by the TPS Foundation is used to supplement the funding received by the state of California. Because California continues to be ranked in the bottom 20% of states in funding their public schools, there is not enough money to support all of the extra student groups, student activities, teacher trainings, and facilities improvements that help make TPS a special place. For this reason, the TPS Foundation serves a vital role in covering those extra expenses and allowing our students to get the most well-rounded education possible.
Specifically, the money raised by the TPS Foundation is typically used to support the school’s visual and performing arts programs, college visits, after school programs, and school facilities improvements, such as the beautiful signage at the entrance of the school and the much needed electronic marquee.
